i would describe south central today as a place in, ln south central that is a good place to live. As long as you got the right mind and some type of experience and braveness. if you can take care of yourself you should survive my opinion of south central is that there are a lot of criminals and outlaws. and also a lot of gang activity. but there are good things some things you should see but a lot you shouldn’t. expecially at a young age. its kind of a eye opening. when you see it its like a nightmare but in ways your nightmare as a child leaves you scared but also leaves you prepared for a while. and then i guess you become fearless.
the three most important events that have had the greatest impact on making south central la what it is today are the gang history, the crack epidemic and also the la riots.
the most important event that had the biggest effect was the crack epidemic. the crack epidemic had the biggest effect on the south central because they brought drugs into the city of Los Angeles .this lead to spread and break up families. also this helped bring down south central even more. meaning people is becoming more poor because of the drugs they spend all of the money on drugs. this also helped bring down south central because gangs started rioting. although the man freeway Ricky Ross was the biggest drug dealer in the world ( because of the help of the CIA) this made citizen mad because they feel that he should not be guilty because the CIA helped bring the drugs in.
the second most important event that had the most effect on Los Angeles was the La riots. i feel that this had an effect because the la riots show how the police burtilize the black well not only the blacks but other races that are not white. this had an effect because this riot had 53 people that died. and also because the death of Latasha Harlims. this made the riot even more stronger because they killed an innocent girl. and the vertict for both was not enough. the police officers was not guilty and also the verdict for “du” was a $500 fine and also probation.
the third event that had an effect on south central was the gang history. the reason this had an effect on south central is because gangs is the most biggest issue south central have. if whites wouldnt never had the spook gang, the black panther wouldn’ve formed and bloods and crips,( which we still have today ) wouldnt exist. so i feel that gang history had the biggest effect on south central; . because gangs is the reason why south central is a bad place.
